Hey, I'm Amelia
Project manager. Parent. An expatriate living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet, gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Pollen Bloom Cocoa
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United Kingdom.
What This Website Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in United Kingdom continues, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Amelia
